How Much Can One Person Eat on $4.17????

Last night was Choose Your Own Dinner night, also known as Fend For Yourself night, also known as Mom Needs A Break night. We found the idea at A Turtle's Life for Me.

Here's the basic idea. Mommy gave us $4.17 and took us to Vons to find our own food for dinner tonight. The rules are: 1) It has to be dinner food 2) It has to fit the budget of $4.17 3)YOU have to cook and clean up your own meal (The rules are in more detail at the link above)

Note: Any spices, sauces, sugar, flour, and related items that we have in the cupboards are fair game and do not need to be bought with your $4.17.

Keep reading to see our dinner choices. You can learn a lot about each of us from what we created!

What meal could YOU come up with on $4.17???

four dollars seventeen cents

  1. That's pretty cool. I spent $9.99 for a BLT and potato salad today alone.

  2. Very fun! My family doesn't get food at Vons, so I might have trouble putting together a healthy dinner under $5. It would be interesting to try, though! :)

  3. By the way, that's really funny that it's illegal NOT to smile in Pocatello, Idaho! I wonder if there are "smile policemen" walking around, fining people who frown. Lol!
